The first of its kind in the NT, The Festival of Women is a vibrant evolution of the No Woman Left Behind Conference, which began in Darwin in 2019 and quickly grew into Northern Australia’s largest women’s event. Over the years, it has featured inspiring Australians like Cathy Freeman, Grace Tame, Christine Anu, and Taryn Brumfitt, uniting women from teenagers to elders, with strong representation from Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities.
Now, the Festival of Women takes connection and empowerment to the next level, aiming to bring together 2,000 women in an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere. This dynamic event offers information on everything from domestic violence services, health and beauty, financial advice, and inspirational stories to the joy of music, culture, comedy, drinks, and delicious food.
Breaking free from traditional conference walls, the Festival creates a welcoming space to explore diverse topics, celebrate innovation, and foster community. Open to all, it’s a place to connect, learn, and grow together—a true celebration of women supporting women.

“Five years ago, I started the No Woman Left Behind Conference to bring women together, share their stories, and connect them with support services under one roof.
The goal was to create an affordable, accessible, and empowering event. But is $250+ truly affordable? Does it align with our ethos of inclusivity? After reflection, my answer is no—we can do better. The Festival of omen has come to life to create an event where anyone can come and connect for less than the price of lunch.
